Planning & Zoning Board


The Planning and Zoning Board is the planning agency for the City. The board also hears applications for rezoning and replatting and makes their recommendation to the City Commission. The board approves site plans and makes recommendations to the City Commission regarding site plans.

Planning and Zoning Board meetings are held on the second Monday of each month.  

The Planning and Zoning Board was created by ordinance and is located in the City's Unified land Development Regulations (ULDR).  The board's enacting Legislation can be found in Article 130,  Division 1 of the Code of Ordinances. If you are interested in serving on the Planning and Zoning Board, fill out the application, linked below, and submit to the City Clerk's Office, at  The Planning and Zoning Board requires that applicants are registered voters in the City. 

Planning and Zoning Board Application 
When there is a board opening applicants will be asked to attend the City Commission Meeting to introduce themselves to the Commission prior to selection and appointment.  Applications are held for one (1) year, expiring at the end of each calendar year. 


Members are appointed by the City Commission and serve a two year term.

Any member of the public wishing to comment publicly on any matter may participate by:

- Submitting Public Comment via email:  PRIOR to the start of the meeting, submit comments by email to Please include your name and address in the email. All comments submitted by email comment length shall be, if read orally, three (3) minutes or less.  Public Comment received by 6pm prior to the start of the meeting will be read into the record by the Clerk.  All other comments submitted by email prior to the start of the meeting shall be made a part of the public record.
- Participating in Meeting: Log-in to Zoom via browser, app or phone.  During Public Comment portion of the agenda use Raise Hand feature to be called on.  Raise Hand feature can be activated by selecting the icon. If you are on app on phone, icon is on the bottom of your screen. If you are on a tablet, icon is on the top right of your screen. - Delivery of any documents for the Board relating to public comment can be sent to  If received by 6pm prior to the meeting, the document will be provided to the Board and will be made a part of the permanent record.  If received after 6pm the documents will be provided to the Board the next business day.
