Leisure Services
Functions & Responsibilities
The Leisure Services Department provides a broad range of municipal services ranging between recreation programming to public facility, median and right of way, waterway, and maintenance.

Functions include administration, budgeting, planning, organizing, leadership and performance measurements for parks, facilities and programs. Additional functions include establishing and enforcing policy and procedures, managing capital projects, grant writing, monitoring and compliance, leading department emergency management plan, leisure services management, natural resources management and leisure services program delivery.

Further Services Provided
The Leisure Services Department ensures fiscal prudence of city resources and seeks out alternative resources to sustain quality leisure opportunities in a broad range of programs, amenities and services that enhance quality of life. Bus bench advertising, vending, naming rights and community bus transportation are also areas of focus for the leisure services administration.

Additionally, the department is the liaison of (6) ongoing boards and committees and participates in more than 35 active organizations ranging from homeowners associations, grant providers, event committees, school board and schools to YMCA, FRPA, NatureScape, and many others.
