Responsibilities
The Community Development Services Department is responsible for improving the quality of life for all city residents, businesses and visitors through a high level of customer services and professional environment.

The Department has three divisions.

Construction Services Division
The Construction Services Division is responsible for the administration of the Florida Building Code, fire inspections, issuance of building permits and job-site inspections.

Online Permitting
Permits may be applied for and monitored online. The general public has the ability to look up any property for current building permit activities.

Neighborhood Planning Division
The Neighborhood Planning Division implements creative solutions to improve the quality of life for all city residents, businesses, and visitors.

Through the city’s Unified Land Development Regulations (Zoning Code), the Comprehensive Plan and neighborhood improvement programs the Neighborhood Planning Division strives for a multi-generational and sustainable community and promotes environmentally friendly programs, such as the Green Building Ordinance, and processes.

This division also provides administrative support to the city’s Development Review Committee (DRC), the Board of Adjustment (BOA) and the Planning and Zoning Board (PZB).

Business Development Division
The Business Development Division proactively attracts economic development investors to the city, assists existing businesses thrive and seeks to market the City of Wilton Manors as a stable residential community and destination for visitors.

The Division also provides administrative support to the city’s Economic Development Task Force.
