The city manager is responsible for the supervision and efficient operation of all city departments, in accordance with the policies established by the city commission.

Serving at the pleasure of the city commission, the city manager is the chief administrative official of the city and directs the operation of all municipal functions.  Working closely with the city's department directors, the city manager coordinates the provision of services to the residents of the city.  As the chief financial officer of the city, the city manager is responsible to the city commission for the preparation and monitoring of the city’s annual budget.
