Board / Committee Information

Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adjustment is made up of five members to hear administrative appeals on zoning code issues. The members of this board must be residents of the City of Wilton Manors and will serve for a period of two years.

Civil Service Board
The Civil Service Board is composed of five members, three appointed by the City Commission and two elected by the civil service city employees. The purpose of the board is to make comments and recommendations of the Civil Service rules to the City Commission and also to make investigations concerning the enforcement and effect of Article XII (Civil Service) of the City's Code of Ordinances. 

Community Affairs Advisory Board
The Community Affairs Advisory Board is composed of seven members. The purpose of the board is to provide a vehicle to maintain a high quality of life through greater citizen participation by providing a conduit for cooperation and communication between the city commission and community. Members of this board must either reside or own a business within the city and will serve for a period of two years.

Library Advisory Board
The Library Advisory Board consists of seven regular members and two alternate members. The purpose of this board is to recommend to the city commission rules, regulations and policies to govern the maintenance and operation of the city’s public library. The board also solicits and receives gifts and monetary donations towards the maintenance and betterment of the library. Members of this board will serve a period of three years.

Pension Board of Trustees
The Pension Board of Trustees consists of two residential members, one city police officer, one general employee member and one member recommended by the board itself and appointed by the city commission. The Pension Board has the authority to make such uniform rules and regulations and to take such action as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of the pension plan and all decisions of the board are final, binding and conclusive on all parties. Planning and Zoning Board
The Planning and Zoning Board consists of seven regular members and two alternate members. The purpose of this board is to make recommendations to the city commission including (but not limited to) proposals for changes to the city’s zoning map, vacations of public rights-of-way, traffic-way plan amendments and plat approvals. The board also serves as the city’s Local Planning Agency as prescribed by F.S. Chapter 163. Members of this board will serve a period of two years.

Recreation Advisory Board
The Recreation Advisory Board consists of seven members. The purpose of this board is to make recommendations to the city commission on public parks, the development, maintenance and acquisition of park land, playgrounds, recreational centers, etc. They will also make recommendations on the employment of Leisure Services staff and the regulations and operations of the city’s recreational facilities. Members of this board will serve terms of three years.
